MILD STEEL ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER

Introduction
Activate Carbon Filter is used for the removal of color, odor, taste, organics & free chlorine from filtered water. It consists of activated carbon as media which removes dominantly removes contaminants by using chemical adsorption.

Carbon filtering is a method of filtering that uses a bed of activated carbon to remove contaminants and impurities, using chemical adsorption.

Each particle/granule of carbon provides a large surface area/pore structure, allowing contaminants the maximum possible exposure to the active sites within the filter media. Activated carbon works via a process called adsorption, whereby pollutant molecules in the fluid to be treated are trapped inside the pore structure of the carbon substrate. Carbon filtering is commonly used for water purification, in air purifiers and industrial gas processing, the purification of sugarcane and in the recovery of precious metals, especially gold.

Active charcoal carbon filters are most effective at removing chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), taste and odour from water. They are not effective at removing minerals, salts, and dissolved inorganic compounds. Typical particle sizes that can be removed by carbon filters range from 0.5 to 50 micrometres. The particle size will be used as part of the filter description. The efficiency of a carbon filter is also based upon the flow rate regulation. When the water is allowed to flow through the filter at a slower rate, the contaminants are exposed to the filter media for a longer amount of time.

FRP ACTIVATED CARBON

Activated Carbon Filters are used for removing taste, organic colour, odour & free chlorine from water. ACF are always employed post filtration and pre RO system to protect the costly RO membrane from free chlorine. These filters employ special media bed consisting of graded layer of filtering sand, activated carbon & gravels. Activated Carbon removes odour & smell by physical adsorption.

FEATURES

  • Light weight FRP filters are easy to install & doesn’t require concrete foundation.
  • Available in both semi-automatic & automatic genre.
  • Single lever operated multiport valve.
  • Different grade of activated carbon is used for different application.
  • High flow distributors provide uniform flow distribution with low pressure drop.
  • Corrosion free and also low maintenance cost.
  • Fittings used are of UPVC i.e. push-fit in nature & more durable & leak free.

Available in all capacities between 300 LPH to 30,000 LPH.
*ACF plays a dominant role in protecting the costly RO

FRP DUAL MEDIA FILTER

Dual Media Filters are used for removing iron, suspended solids and turbidity from water. Due to its easy operation, it is considered in all the sectors such as industrial, commercial, domestic etc. It has automatic as well as semiautomatic mode of operation. These filters consist of treated sand & anthracite as filtering media which enhances its performance efficiency. Treated sand helps in the oxidation of iron thereby converting it from ferrous to ferric form. On the other hand anthracite helps in reducing turbidity.

FEATURES

  • Light weight FRP filters are easy to install & doesn’t require concrete foundation.
  • Single lever operated multiport valve.
  • Special media is used which provide effective results.
  • High flow distributors provide even flow distribution with low pressure drop.
  • Corrosion free and also low maintenance cost.
  • Fittings used are of UPVC i.e. push-fit in nature & more durable & leak free.

Available in all capacities between 200 LPH to 30,000 LPH.

Max. TSS input limit – 20 PPM

Max. Iron input limit-0.6 PPM

FRP MULTI MEDIA FILTER

Multi Media Filters are used for removing suspended solids and turbidity from water. Due to its easy operation, it is considered in all the sectors such as industrial, commercial, domestic etc. These filters are designed at high velocity and employ advanced multi-media bed consisting of graded layer of filtering sand & gravels which removes bulk of suspended particles & polishes water to a high quality.

FEATURES

  • Light weight FRP filters are easy to install & doesn’t require concrete foundation.
  • Single lever operated multiport valve.
  • Automatic & Semi-automatic operation mode.
  • Designed at high velocity
  • High flow distributors provide even flow distribution with low pressure drop.

MILD STEEL DUAL MEDIA FILTER

Introduction
Mild Steel Dual Media Filter is used for the removal of iron, suspended solids & turbidity from raw water. It consists of special media which increases its efficiency many more times & helps to produce quality water.

The most common filter media in water treatment are sand and anthracite. The effective grain size for fine sand filter is in the range of 0.35–0.5 mm, and 0.7–0.8 mm for anthracite filter. In comparison to single sand filter media, dual filter media with anthracite over sand permit more penetration of the suspended matter into the filter bed, thus resulting in more efficient filtration and longer runs between cleaning. The design depth of the filter media is a minimum of 31 inches (0.8 m). In the dual filter media, the filters are usually filled with 24 inches (0.6 m) of sand covered with 12 inches (0.3 m) of anthracite.

During operation, influent water to be filtered enters at the top of the filter, percolates through the filter bed, and is drawn off through the collector system at the bottom. Periodically, when the differential pressure increases between the inlet and outlet of the pressure filter is 4–9 psi (0.4–0.8 bar); the filter is backwashed and rinsed to carry away the deposited matter. Backwash time is normally about 10 minutes. Before a backwashed filter is placed back into service, it must be rinsed to drain until the filtrate meets the specification.
